Previous : Day 2 – Wise River to Bannack State Campground (57 miles)
Brrrrrrrgh! That describes last night. It was freezing again when I woke and the tent had loads of condensation. So glad I bought the extra sleeping bag liner and jacket!
Set off at 0800hrs for the ride to Lima. As usual I was last away
Once again I just crawled along until I found my rhythm. The views once again didn’t dissapoint.
Just before I reached the lunch spot I saw this. Looks like the poor thing must have got caught in the fence.
I was having a great ride and the terrain suited me. I was really surprised when I reached the lunch van to find I was the first person 🙂
The views just kept getting better and the second 40 miles was a flyer! On the tri bars and the miles flew by. 82 miles in 5hrs 30mins and I had the best day so far.
I’ll let the pictures of the last 40 miles speak for themselves.
To say the place is vast is an understatement. I rode on my own for pretty much the whole way down the most amazing trails and saw just a few people. No towns, just nothingness!
