My bike developed a terminal failure.
Drive side bottom bracket bearing collapsed and totally knackered. Current upshot is that no Hope BB exists at any bike shop, so I am going to freewheel back down the long climb to the last town and then try and catch a bus to the nearest cycle shop to see if they can help.
I’m absolutely gutted as everything was working so well and I was on target to reach Nice by Friday afternoon.
Shit happens, but I’ve never had a BB bearing do that to me before.
